THURSDAY 10TH FEB - NEW NORFOLK

FEB . 10TH….. NEW NORFOLK

Left Ted’s Beach this morning, little reluctantly, because it means we are leaving the rugged wilderness and heading city-wise, but at the same time, longing to have a decent shower, instead of bucket ‘bath’,  and wash my hair again ….

Did the long blog and all the pics that I hope you finally got to view, and today when we arrived in New Norfolk, we had lunch, then hopped on our bikes and off we went.  We cycled all over the place, both sides of the beautiful Derwent River, and through the scrub, and got a little lost, but nice lady re-directed us, and we had a good yak to her as well.

Walked from our caravan park up to the ‘’Bush Inn’’, (Tassie’s oldest licenced pub) for dinner.  All we can say is, ‘’if you come to New Norfolk’’, have your dinner there!   I had roast pork, and it was so tender that I couldn’t even get a decent size piece on my fork, (it literally fell apart). Michael had beef schinitzel and it filled a massive oval plate end to end….. yummo.

Was drizzling as we walked back, but after nearly 2 days of sun, we must expect that , haha…..Both of us are limping all like old farts…… him with his hip and calf, and I’ve wrenched my left knee somehow (either on the bike or up the steep slopes where we had to walk with the bikes in parts)….. hope we both don’t freeze up overnight !

Just charging up this puta, and wanted to charge my phone too before bed, but the other power point has been taken, so never mind…. Will charge phone in van tomorrow.

Off to Cadbury’s Chokky factory and Cascade Brewery to see the ‘makings’ tomorrow (well, that’s the plan anyway).

Going to get this posted away, then off to bed.

Be good all ,,,,, x x x

half way along our cycle along Derwent River

Couple of old buildings on our bike ride

further along on our bike ride

This had such a serene 'feel' about it - not a ripple

we were right up on topmost sort of rocky cliff here, beautiful !!!

Michael with a pole up his bottom, haha,,,,,, (nah, not really -
this was our last leg of the ride back to caravan park).
